About Us

Our Association

Suffolk’s aims have always been to promote the game within its borders, with particular reference to the female half of the population of all ages and at all standards of play.
Because talent is so varied and the handicapping system happily allows people of varying levels of expertise to take each other on in keen competition, enjoyment is the key and the spirit in which Suffolk players take to the fairways, their adherence to the rules of the game and their consideration for others on and off the golf course has always been important. Excellence is prized, but reaching individual potential whatever that may be is perhaps even more highly valued.

With that thought in mind, this website is dedicated to the whole membership and it is hoped that everyone who belongs to the Suffolk Ladies County Golf Association, from the very youngest to the most elderly still happily engaged in the game, will feel a sense of ownership and help it to become a source of interest for us all by providing news, views and pictures via the contact link.

Suffolk Seniors Vs Norfolk VETS

Suffolk Seniors v Norfolk Vets on Tuesday 24th September 2024 @ Thetford Golf Club

Suffolk Senior ladies were on fine form for this annual 4bbb match played off scratch.
As the afternoon unfolded the sun shone and golfers enjoyed playing on a well presented heathland course, carved out of the Breckland forest. Fast paced greens added to the challenge.
In the first match the Suffolk pair came up against a much experienced very low handicap pairing and despite some excellent golf, were well beaten.
The third and fourth matches on the course resulted in convincing wins for Suffolk.
This left the second match out on the course playing the 18th all square. With all her team mates watching, Amanda Mok putted in off the green to secure a 1 up win for Suffolk.
Both teams enjoyed a delicious post match meal and reflected on a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Thanks to Norfolk captain Sue Saunders for organising and Thetford GC for hosting.
