Flempton Golf Club are delighted to report that two of their Ladies qualified for a place in the Grand Final of the R&A Coronation Foursomes held at St Andrews at the end of September.
Sally Price and Debbie Howlett won their Club competition for the Coronation Foursomes and went forward to the Regional Final which was played at Thetford in July. They were thrilled to win the Regional Final with a score of 42 points and were presented with a generous voucher and information about their trip to St Andrews which included a two night stay at the iconic Old Course Hotel, a champagne reception, a visit to the World Golf Museum and a fantastic finalists’ dinner held in the White Conservatory at the Old Course Hotel plus official photos taken on the Swilken Bridge.
Sally and Debbie really enjoyed playing their practice round and The Grand Final held on the Eden Course but despite their best efforts, there was no repeat of 42 points!!! However, Sally was thrilled to win nearest the pin on the 10th hole and this led to a tap in birdie and big smiles all round.
The R&A pulled out all the stops to make sure the trip was so enjoyable and it was wonderful to meet with the other 15 pairs. It was just such an amazing trip and we would encourage everyone to enter this competition at their Club in 2024
