County Competitions.

This is a list of the competitions available to enter for this year. Click on the appropriate link for entry forms.

Individual Games

The divisional meeting are a great way to start playing with ladies who have the same handicap index as you. Division 3 & 4 are played around April and May.  Divisions 1 & 2 are played in September. You can play in more than one division if your handicap index meets the required entry level at the time of entry.

For Divisions 1, 2 & 3 players are required to have 5 competitive cards, within a year, at the date which the competition is played.

Divisions 1 – Handicap Index up to 17.9
Divisions 2 – Handicap Index  between 18.0 – 24.9
Divisions 3 – Handicap Index between 25.0 – 31.9
Divisions 4 – Handicap Index 32.0 and above. 5 cards not required.

A shield for the best 3 club score will be presented on the day. (Gross scores for Div 1&2, Stableford scores for Div 3&4)

Championships

Main championships are held over 3 days around May.
Handicap Index limit – 17.9 or below at the time of entering.
Prizes for Gross and Nett

Day 1 – Strokeplay 36 holes medal.
Day 2 – Top 4 of Gross and Nett match-play semi-final.
Day 3 – Gross and Nett match-play final.

Seniors championships are held over 3 days around July.
Handicap Index limit – 17.9 or below at the time of entering.
Entrants must be 50 years and over on the first day of the Championship

Day 1 – Strokeplay 18 holes medal.
Day 2 – Top 4 of Gross and Nett match-play semi-final.
Day 3 – Gross and Nett match-play final.

Foursomes Competitions

The Coronation and Centenary foursomes are played June/July time and is a 27- hole competition.
The format for the Coronation is a medal, with prizes for gross and nett, and the Centenary is a Stableford.
No player may enter both Coronation and Centenary Foursomes

The Ladies / Junior competition is for Ladies or Juniors to invite each other to play 18-hole Foursomes.
This is a stableford competition played around October.

CORONATION FOURSOMES – Handicap Index Combined limit – no more than 38.9 at time of entering
CENTENARY FOURSOMES – Handicap Index Combined limit between 39.0 and 64.9 inclusive at the time of entering.
LADIES / JUNIOR GIRL FOURSOMES – Maximum Handicap Index limit Ladies 35.0, Junior 36.0

Team Events

Suffolk Golf Days

These are held in two locations and players may enter both.
These are fun days to play with your friends. Teams of 4 where 2 scores count.
Players over the handicap limit can play but have to play off the required limit.
5 competition cards required.

East Suffolk Golf Day – played in April. Handicap Index limit 32.2
Suffolk Golf Day – played around July / August. Handicap Index limit 32.9

Interclub Knockout Competitions

Selection for these competitions are made by captains of each team within the clubs.

Haskell

The Haskell team consists of one pair, playing Foursomes off scratch. The matches, until the semi-finals, are played on a day, agreed by the participating clubs, within the specified time frame.

Weston

The Weston team consists of 5 players, playing singles Matchplay off scratch, over 18 holes. The Weston follows a league format and, at the end of the season, two Clubs may be promoted or relegated – dependent upon the number of points they score in relation to the other Clubs in their Division.

Stearn

The Stearn is a Matchplay Foursomes competition played off ½ the difference of combined handicaps. A team shall consist of a squad of eight players, each player having a handicap index within the range of 8.6 – 19.0 inclusive.
All games shall be decided over 3 x 18 holes am and 3 x 18 holes pm

Jubilee

A team shall consist of 8 players from each Club – each player having a Handicap Index of no more than 21.9 and being at least 60 years of age on the 1st of January in the year of the competition.
This is a Fourball Better Ball (4BBB) competition.  All rounds are to be played over 18 holes to a conclusion.

Cranworth

The Cranworth is a team which consists of 8 players from each Club – each player having a handicap index within the range of 19.1 to 28.0 inclusive.
This is an 18-hole Matchplay. (To continue until 2025 and the review)
Two match-play foursomes, (playing off ½ difference of combined handicaps), followed by four match-play singles, (in handicap index order), playing off full handicap allowance.
