The Division 1 Meeting was held at Thorpeness Golf Club on Saturday 28th September. It was very well supported, with 41 ladies playing on the day, finishing with a roast dinner afterwards. The course was in great condition, with the greens rolling beautifully and the food was excellent.
It is the first time the Division 1 meeting has been played at a weekend, with over 60 ladies initially entering the competition, but with only 12 tee times available, some ladies withdrew and the closed by date was rigidly enforced. Next year the Division 1 meeting will be held on Saturday 13th September at Ipswich Golf Club.
The weather was warm and sunny and the Thorpeness staff were extremely helpful. Special thanks to Dan Skriabin the Club Professional and Golf Director, and all the staff on the course and in the hotel who helped make the day run smoothly.
Many thanks the County President Vicki Hunt who presented the prizes

The SLCGA Division 3 Meeting (HCI 25.0 31.9) was held on Saturday 25th May at Diss Golf Club. The weather was wet and cool to start but improved as the afternoon went on. The course was in good condition although the rough was wet and tough to get out of and there was a high premium for keeping the ball on the fairway.
15 ladies played Stableford and the winner was Jenny Chamberlin from Diss with 28 points. The Team Trophy – The Belstead Shield was won by Stowmarket
Thanks goes to Diss golf club for hosting the competition.
The Division Meetings are intended for ladies of like handicap to meet other players outside of their club and to enjoy 18 holes on another Suffolk course. This year all Division Meetings have been moved to a weekend to try and accommodate all ladies and this will be continued into 2025.
