The 12th… 340-yards, second over water, at Quinta do Lago… stand out hole for Alice…

DSC03910-1_(1)

We thought Alice Barlow had finished her last year as a junior with her victory in the Suffolk Junior Matchplay Championship, but no!  She has just returned from an exciting week at Quinta do Lago where she came a hugely creditable seventh out of 40,000 initial entrants in the Telegraph BMW Junior Championship.

The event is played over 54 holes.  Three days of concentrated golf on the difficult North Course, set at pro-level length and with lightning fast greens is demanding.   Alice returned 77, 82, 79 which secured that very special seventh place.

Particularly memorable was her second shot over water at the challenging twelfth hole where her ball soared into the sky and landed several feet from the pin.  Wonderful!   Alice’s verdict:  ‘The week was a fantastic experience.  It is one I shall remember for the rest of my life.’

Thank you to justifiably proud parents, Mark and Jenny, for keeping us up to date with the young Barlow’s exploits.  The news has made very good, happy reading and we are delighted at the success which Alice has earned all year.  We look forward to seeing what she can do in the serried ranks of ladies’ golf in 2017.
