Rookery Park has become the first Suffolk club to achieve the new-style, National GolfMark award in recognition of its work within the game. In accordance with England Golf’s Get Into Golf scheme, Rookery is working hard to encourage newcomers to golf. Its special focus is on attracting women, girls and junior boys to the club, engaging more with the local community and offering affordable coaching and playing opportunities. It has set up an Academy Membership to form a structured introduction to the game.
The Award was presented by Steven Peet, England Golf Regional Manager, who was particularly pleased to 
note that Rookery’s efforts can now be nationally recognised. Ron Pettit, the Club Secretary, says the Club has worked hard and will continue to work hard to spread the message that golf can be fun, sociable and beneficial.
