Abbie Symonds was the runner up in the 2014 final and hoped to go one better this year.   However, it is a splendid effort to come second two years running and her efforts netted her the Ladies Under 21 handicap prize.  On day one she also won nearest the pin,  when the ball went in the hole, hit the pin and bounced out, finishing two inches away.
This is a Gap Year for Abbie, who is still at the Lee Westwood School, training and working hard on her game.   She is aiming for a handicap of exactly two by the end of October 2016.   Simultaneously she is finishing off her academic education in business studies, hoping for a distinction to add to the nineteen others already attained during her two years at the School.  An all round great achievement for one of Suffolk’s bright young golfers.
