The Junior Open at Southwold on June 13th was a good place to be if your name was Georgia Parker. Georgia, from Bury St Edmunds, was handicapped off 28 at the start of the day and probably never guessed she would become the overall winner in the field of twenty-three, seven girls and sixteen boys.   She amassed 43 points which must have done wonders for that handicap of hers and certainly put a smile on her face as she received her prize from Southwold professional Andrew Robinson (see picture.  On the right is Keith May, Vice-Captain of the club.)   Another Suffolk Junior, Tegan Arlow (Rookery Park), came second in the girls’ competition.

Winning is becoming a habit for Georgia who took the girls’ prize at the Waldringfield Junior Open in May and also won her division at the Schools Western Area Championships at Haverhill recently.  What a lovely record!
