Entry Form

Coronation Foursomes – Le Blond Trophies 2024

Ufford Park Golf Club 4th JULY 2024
REPORT & RESULTS
A competitive field of 24 pairs took part this year, slightly down on last year’s record entry of 27 pairs, but still a very good turnout. It was a bright but breezy day with the course looking wonderful after all the rain we’ve experienced over the last few months which has helped every course to look its best.
The Coronation Foursomes is held over 27 holes, medal format, for entrants with a combined handicap index not greater than 38.9.
Ufford Park pulled out all the stops on the day and were an enormous help during the entire event, and our thanks to both golf shop manager, Dominic Rosser, and the events catering team. Lady Captain  Amanda Little and her team of helpers were magnificent providing meeter and greeters, ball spotters, and a competition starter by way of Club Captain Simon. We are very grateful for all their help as these events would not run successfully or efficiently without their able assistance.
The winners of the Le Blond Trophies consisting of silver salvers and jugs were newcomers to the competition, Cathy Chandler and Viv Leech, both from Halesworth Golf Club. Runners-Up were Christie Reid and Helen O’Connell, both from Bury St Edmunds Golf Club.   The prizes were presented by S.L.C.G.A. President, Vicki Hunt.

Centenary Foursomes – Centenary Salvers 2024

Haverhill Golf Club20th June 2024
REPORT & RESULTS
On a beautiful sunny day on what was the Summer Solstice, Haverhill kindly hosted our Centenary Foursomes competition for 2024. Despite a very small field of just 10 pairs, we still welcomed some new faces to the competition, and many of our ‘regulars’. Haverhill is a long way to travel for many ladies and this may be why the number of entries was down this year, but for those that didn’t enter, they missed a treat! The course was in fantastic condition, the hosts were genial and very helpful, and the catering superb, and a good day was had by all.
This is a 27 hole Foursomes stableford competition for entrants with a combined handicap index from 39.0 – 64.9. The morning scores didn’t have much between
, but then new entrants to the competition, Mandy Read and Christine Bloomfield, stormed away with a total of 55 points over the 27 holes, winning by  a margin of 6 points, a very respectable score. These ladies had never entered a County Competition before so were absolutely thrilled that they won. Perhaps this might inspire so other new entrants for next year?
