Ipswich Golf Club opens its doors on Tuesday to one of England’s most prestigious Championships (20th – 22nd August). The big field of 144 will play for the very large trophy, the player with the lowest gross score over 72 holes taking the Championship. Everyone will play 18 holes over the first two days. Then the top 40 and ties will go on to play 36 holes on Thursday,
Six of Suffolk’s top players have entered alongside the 138 from all around the country and abroad.
Over the next three exciting days, those who have followed county golf over the years will recognise plenty of names and faces on the golf course. Austria’s Isabella Hopfer, who won last year by a massive margin of 11 shots, defends her title. Her starting time is 1300 off the 1st tee.
If you can visit the Club in support, it would really mean something to our home grown golfers. We wish all of them good luck.
