The County Junior First Team will be appearing at Wensum Valley Golf Club on Monday 12 until Wednesday 14th August. They will compete against teams from Bedfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Cambs & Hunts and Hertfordshire. Starting times are given below and blue-jersey support would be most welcome during a very busy two and a half days for the girls. Wensum Valley Golf Club (NR8 6HP) is situated on Beech Drive at Taverham, just a seven minute drive from Norwich.
The Suffolk girls are Georgia Parker (Captain), Laura Eaden, Jasmine Points and Sophie Kubitzek, all from Bury St Edmunds. They are joined by Rio Everitt (The Suffolk), Jessica Buck (Halesworth), Juliette Coffey (Woodbridge) and Natasha Gregory (Ipswich).
The girls have been working hard on their golf and are doing well. Laura Eaden has cut her handicap this season from 31 to 18 while Georgia played in the English Girls U16 Open Amateur Championship this week. Unfortunately she missed the cut by 5 shots but it’s a great challenge and we hope she enjoyed it. Great practice for County Week, too, and there’s nothing quite like playing amongst players who have more experience than you do yourself.
With a very windy weekend in prospect as we write, we will hope for a calmer spell of weather to make the event as thoroughly enjoyable as usual.
