Suffolk 3 – Cambs & Hunts 2

Congratulations to the Seniors team who came out the winners at Brampton Park.
Our fears for a boiling hot day were unfounded; there was a fresh breeze to keep us cool and by the end of the round the sun had clouded over. Although, as everywhere, the course was very dry it was playing well and the greens rolled fast, but not overly so, and true. Brampton Park is definitely a course that demands you plot your way round it and not many of us avoided the water at some point! The match was 4BBB off handicap and was played in a competitive but friendly spirit and enjoyed by all; many of us saying that we would like to have ‘another go’ at some of the more challenging holes. It certainly was the first time we had come across a Par 3 that was Stroke Index 1! It deserved to be too as it was almost completely surrounded by water and trees!
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and our thanks goes to Roz Bartlett and her team for a great day. Also many thanks to Brampton Park for hosting us and to the catering staff for the delicious meal!
