Another match played in glorious sunshine but it was almost too hot and humid! Fortunately, as we had started at 1pm, the temperature cooled as the afternoon progressed. As always all the matches were keenly contested and again it all went down to the wire; unfortunately it did not go our way this time. As always the opposition was tough and mostly it came down to who holed the putts. Mention must be made of Ann Fosker’s amazing chip from over the back of the green on the 18th. It smacked into the centre of the pin and dropped – she therefore won the hole and halve her match! We always have a very enjoyable and competitive match with Essex and always played in excellent spirit; the after-play socialising is testament to that!
Many thanks to Ipswich GC for hosting our match. The course was in fabulous condition, much admired by all our visitors, and the food excellent.
So one league match to go! Our visit to Royal Norwich to play Norfolk Seniors in October in keenly anticipated!
